Sifu Benno Wai will be in Cambridge from Friday the 18th of May till Monday the 21st. On Friday afternoon (evening) Sifu Benno will be teaching for a maximum of 9 students (only NEW students) part of the PWC Chi Kung.
Qigong, qi gong, chi kung, or chi gung which literally translates to "Life Energy Cultivation" has been around for many hundreds of years. It is a holistic system that integrates physical exercise, breath control and mental training.
It practice typically involves moving meditation, coordinating slow flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and calm meditative state of mind. Qigong is practiced throughout China and also worldwide these days for recreation, exercise and relaxation, preventive medicine and self-healing, alternative medicine, meditation and self-cultivation, and training for martial arts.
In the area of martial arts, Qigong was originally used to train the body to withstand strong blows and attacks in the days when there were no guns but only the traditional weapons of spears, staffs,sticks, broadswords and knives. A certain level of resistance to those weapons is achieved through enhancing muscles. A similar effect can be achieved through bodybuilding, but that also limits flexibility, fluidity and adaptability, which are essential for any style of Kung Fu.

Training Chi Kung will enhance your Wing Chun skills greatly. It will increase your alignment which is essential to redirect a greater force.
There will be in total three sessions (300GBP each session) the second one will be September 28th, the third in beginning of 2019. Of-course is it helpful to sign up for private one on one training with Sifu Benno Wai if one wishes so.
Then there will be grading on Saturday and an Advanced Chi Sau session in the afternoon. On Sunday there will be in the morning Chi Sau (SG Program related) and how to use rotation in Chin Na (locking techniques of the joints) which will be open to all.
